Welcome to the Old Settler's Reunion Association. After forming a committee and setting the framework, the first OSR was held in 1900. For the first two years, events were held on the lawn in front of the courthouse. The OSR committee went on to purchase a seven acre tract of land, now known as Governor Hogg City Park, which would become the permanent site of the Old Settlers Reunion. The OSR Committee donated this land to the State of Texas with the understanding that they would be allowed to lease the land one week every year to the OSR Association for the purpose of holding the Old Settlers Reunion. The state later gave the park to the City of Quitman.
At Old Settlers Reunion, we honor the traditions of our past and celebrate the coming together of our community. Each year, we strive to bring together people from all walks of life in Wood County to enjoy days of entertainment, food, and fun. From attractions for the kids to live music, there's something for everyone at the Wood County Old Settlers Reunion. Join us for four days of celebration and unity at Old Settlers Reunion!
