The Carnival is Back!

Early Bird special in effect for Vendors

Early Bird special in effect for Vendors

We are excited to announce that we have found a carnival available during our desired dates! Midwest Rides will be bringing 10 rides for a variety of ages, 4 midway games, and 2 food trucks. Carnivals do not come cheap, and because its our first year with them, we are paying up front $20,000 for them to set up. If this year is popular, then in the future we can negotiate the price. So please spread the word, show up, and sponsor if you can. You asked for it, and we are going out on a limb to deliver; so we hope everyone has a blast!

Welcome to the wood county Old Settlers Reunion

Join us for the annual Old Settlers Reunion, a vibrant festival celebrating our rich heritage. Enjoy a carnival, live entertainment, local artisans, and community spirit at Governor Hogg City Park in Quitman, Texas. This year’s event will be held October 31st-November 1st. Don't miss out!

Schedule

Our History

The Old Settlers Reunion began in 1898 as an end-of-harvest celebration. This annual event brings together settlers from across Wood County to celebrate our heritage. The Old Settlers Reunion was traditionally held in the summer, at the end of the harvest. However in recent years the event has been moved to the fall to avoid the extreme heat of East Texas summers. This year, the Old Settlers Reunion will be held October 31 and November 1.
